Summer Nights

Chickenshed’s Summer Nights sessions is an exploration of story-telling through physical theatre, movement, dance and vocal work.

Everyone is welcome regardless of experience, participants are welcome to bring snacks, and they will be supervised by Chickenshed staff during breaks.

Book for the whole week or individual days.

Over the course of an enjoyable day, participants will explore inventive story-making, dance, drama, movement and singing where they will work together to develop creative ideas based around a theme.

Everyone is welcome regardless of experience, participants will need to bring a packed lunch and snacks, and they will be supervised by Chickenshed staff during lunchtime and breaks.

There will be a different theme each day so you can either book for the whole week or individual days.

Dates: Mon 22, Tue 23, Wed 24, Thu 25 Fri 26 Jul

Ages 5-10 yrs (from year 1)

Summer Shed

As the Summer Holidays begin and the children are full of excitement and hope for the weeks ahead, get them along to Chickenshed for lots of drama, dance, story-making, music and fun.

Beginning on the Monday morning children will be part of a group that will together come up with a idea, create a story, learn songs and make up dances all in time for a performance on the Friday afternoon!

Summer Shed is for anyone between the ages of 5-11 and is delivered by Chickenshed’s highly experienced and energetic staff and performers!

Everyone is welcome regardless of experience. This activity will run from 10am-4pm each day so children are asked to bring a packed lunch and snacks for each day. Chickenshed staff will supervise the lunchtimes and breaks throughout the day. Parents and friends will be invited in on the final afternoon to see the performance that has been devised throughout the week.

Dates:

Week 1 Monday 29 July – Friday 2 August

Week 2 Monday 5 August – Friday 9 August

Both creative weeks will be different so you can choose to come to one, or both weeks.

The Summer Scratch

A summer theatre project for 12-17 year olds who are interested in sharing and developing a passion for writing, performance, movement and music.

Participants will be guided by Chickenshed’s Youth Theatre Directors and our current Youth Theatre members in devising, writing, choreographing and composing their own pieces of theatre throughout the week, in a fun and supportive environment. The developed work will then be presented at a Scratch Performance on the Friday and will potentially be developed further by Chickenshed’s Youth Theatre for future performance.

This project also gives participants the opportunity to apply to become a member of our Young Company.

We have a limited number of places available for those who would like to take part, so we advise to book early!

Date: Mon 29 Jul - Fri 2 Aug 11am - 5pm (until 7pm on Fri 2 Aug)

Summer Workshops

A weeks worth of Drama, Art, Singing and Dance with a performance on the final Friday. This is a fun and exciting week based on the Theatre of 'School of Rock'. Children will take part in drama games to build confidence and learn how to work in teams. They will also be engaging in script work, songs, choreographed dances and quality art work. Children will also take part in costume/prop making as well as other art work throughout the week. Children will be taught by Fully Qualified Musical Theatre Teachers who will teach them skills and performance-based work throughout the week. All children to bring a packed lunch with a drink. NO NUTS or FIZZY DRINKS please. Children should wear clothes to get messy!

Our holiday club at Oasis Hadley is really popular and low cost. It’s available for working parents or anyone that needs it living in Enfield, not just students of the Oasis Academy. For more information and to book call 0208 8046946.

Weaving for Kids Course

Presented by THE MUSEUM OF ENFIELD & YOGART LONDON

All sessions are 11.30am – 12.30pm, taught as a course for £35.00 for all four sessions.

Fun weaving course where children can expect to learn a skill whilst getting creative with some yarn! Children can create a cool, colourful wall hanging, whilst learning basic weaving techniques such as Tabby and Soumak. A wide variety of colourful yarns of different textures will be available as well as beads and pom pom making for decoration.

Bug Club - Wildflowers

Come and find out find out how to help our bees and other insects survive in the first of our two seasonal Bug Clubs for young inquisitive minds! Get outside with a magnifying glass and explore the varied insect habitats in the walled Garden.

Use your worksheet to find and indentitify bee friendly plants and count how many pollinators can be found. Look for bees, ladybirds and other pollinators and then come inside to paint your own personalised pot! Finally plant wildflower seeds in your decorated pot to grow some bee friendly wildflowers for your garden or window box.

Gangsta Granny

Ben’s Granny is an international jewel thief - and she needs his help to pull off her biggest heist yet, stealing the crown jewels!

Heartbreak productions invites you to share in this exciting escapade, a David Walliams best seller adapted for the outdoor stage. Join us, Ben, and his Gangsta Granny on their grandest adventure full of forbidden fun. It could be very hungry work so come prepared with a picnic and appropriate outdoor gear.

Please note there will be a bar, and coffee bar (including soft drinks and ice cream) available to purchase drinks before during the event.

Come and find out what plants and flowers, the bees and other pollinators are enjoying at the end of summer! Use your worksheet and magnifying glass to find bees, ladybirds, insects and count how many pollinators can be found in the Walled Garden.

Bees and other pollinators like grape hyacinth flowers and in this workshop you can also plant a bulb in a pot that you can personalise with vibrant paint colours! Don't forget you can take it home with you to care for and then plant in your garden or window box!
