Short notice flat clearance 5 After relocating to Scarborough a month ago, when my flat sale was delayed in London, I literally had half a day to clear my flat for a sudden exchange and completion..who did I call? Simon. He collected the keys from the estate agency, and set to work, manageing to get a 7 ft sofa into a 6ft 6 lift, and off course into his tardis/van...along with disconnecting , making safe, and removing appliances, and general bits and pieces from the flat, whilst sending me wattsap images of his progress! This saved me a 12 hour round trip to London, and a huge amount of stress!!! I cannot recommend him enough. He is a 🌟.

House Clearance & Moving 5 I first called Simon about 18 months ago when I was looking for a quote to clear my aunt's flat. Was a very good quote and when they came to do it, despite there being a lot of stuff to remove (two large vans absolutely crammed), they cleared it quickly and in a very professional and friendly way. Wast clearance 5 I had taken apart a wall and shed in the garden and needed to take take away the wood and heavy concrete blocks. I considered getting a skip but I’m glad that I instead had Simon collect and take away the waste. It was all cleared in an hour. Cheaper than a skip and without the hassle. Waste removal 5 Yet another excellent review for Simon, you run out of superlatives to describe the service provided by Simon and Kelly. This time they moved a double divan and mattress, a dining table and six chairs, a display cabinet and a large dresser unit for me as well as an assortment of bric a brac, some for scrap and some going to a charity shop. Simon and Kelly worked extremely hard to clear the items quickly and as I live in a second floor flat and several items would not go in the lift this was a huge task. Will need assistance again shortly and of course wont hesitate to use Simon again.

Fence Repair 5 Simon did a great job making a repair to my garden fence. It was quite a tricky repair because of mine and my neighbours gardens being at different heights with a small retaining wall. 5 Simon Bernasco recently collected a king size mattress from our house, delivered it to our son's house and removed their old mattress for disposal. From the time I messaged him about the job, Simon, responded without delay and asked all the relevant questions so there were no surprises on the day. I was particularly impressed when he mentioned that he sometimes employs females. He and his colleague (another man called Simon) arrived in good time and very carefully got on with the job. They were friendly, yet professional. It was obvious that they were experienced in removals, as they were vigilant for pictures/lights that might have been in the way. They worked well together and got the job done using good moving and handling techniques which did not put them at risk of injury. I am recommending Simon in the highest terms

He dismantled a trampoline and disposed of it the first visit last year then I was moving and him and his team helped me move. He used some of my containers to transport the rubbish away (it was easier than unloading them all) and he returned them to me the next morning after delivery to the dump. Waste removal/fencing 5 Simon removed a large amount of rubbish that we had sorted out in lockdown and also replaced some fencing and repaired and re-enforced our side fence and gate. Simon was extremely efficient, helpful and responsive from initial contact to the end of the job. He ensured we were happy with absolutely everything before he left and his charges were very reasonable!! We were so very pleased with everything he done. waste removal 5 100% pleased with the service. I found Simon after phoning numerous companies for a quote for clearing away household rubbish. His quote was way cheaper than the others, he told me clearly in advance what his different prices were (according to volume) eg, quarter Load, half load etc, and told me I would be able to see what amount of space my rubbish took up and that he would charge accordingly. The rubbish I had took up less space than he had thought, so he charged me less than quoted, he even asked my opinion on what I felt was a fair price. As it happens, my ex husband has been in this line of business for 27 years so I know how expensive it is to dispose of the waste and the costs of running a business like that. Simon's prices are way cheaper than what my ex used to charge and very reasonable compared to the other quotes. The service was excellent and he was so friendly and helpful, he was totally reliable on both the occasions that I used him. I have recommended him to friends and family and can guarantee you wont find a more reasonable price.

Collection 5 Recently we booked Simon to collect our house and garden waste. Within a few hours and after sending images of the items to be collected. We were given a quote and a date which happened to be the next day at 12.30pm. We brought all the items to the front garden. Waste removal and garden fence 5 My whole fence and wall collapsed with pipework attached. Simon was carefull in removing the fence after separating the pipes. I had no mess whatsoever as he took the rubbish away which meant i didnt need to have the skip outside the house. He then with his fencer put up my fence which i am very pleased with. House Clearance 5 Living away from the area I was given Si's name in respect of a flat that needed clearing in Southgate. Made contact on phone and agreed to meet at the flat. Si was on time, friendly and professional. As I only had limited time in London this was much appreciated. Si quoted on the spot and the job was agreed. Decking repairs 5 I have used Simon on a number of occasions and he has always done a magnificent job . He will always attend at the alloted time to view the job , give an honest appraisal of what needs to be done in the most cost effective way . Recently we had a large number of rotten decking boards to be replaced including some tricky circular up lights to cut out and finally to repaint the complete decking area which now looks like new ! House move and rubbish clearance 5 I have used Simon many times over the years for rubbish removal and I also use him regularly in my business for furniture collection and delivery, so I knew that when we were due to move house he was the man I wanted to use. Simon definitely knows his stuff and is so knowledgeable on moving items, getting through small spaces and filling the van to it's maximum capacity using the space available in the best way. As well as helping us move house, we also asked Simon to help us transfer various items between garages and also to dispose of a large amount of rubbish, all of which he did professionally and within the time he said it would take. He worked so hard on the day of the move and made sure that everything was in the room we wanted it and this really helped what was a stressful time go much more smoothly. Collection of large item 5 I contacted Simon as I had used him in the past to dismantle and remove an old shed, and recalled he was able to collect and deliver large items. I had bought a big wardrobe online, and needed to collect it, and needed a “man with a van” ! What a life saver! 5 I'm so glad I was given Simon's number! He came to my aid at very short notice when I was clearing my old house and feeling overwhelmed by having to dispose of so much stuff. Rubbish removal and so much more 5 Simon removed and disposed of some rubbish for me last year and as I was so pleased with his service at that time I contacted him again to clear items from my garage and also asked if he could help tidying the ivy which had got out of control on the garage and clear over-grown brambles at the rear of my property. He quickly agreed to do all the work and gave me a quote I was happy to accept. He has today done all the work for me, it all looks good and even though items had to be brought through the house there was no mess or damage. I would recommend Simon to anyone and no matter what you want help with I would suggest making him your first port of call as he really does seem to be able to turn his hand to anything. Waste removal 5 Would DEFINITELY recommend Simon to ANYONE wanting rubbish cleared. He was so reliable , rang well in advance to say he was running 20 minutes late. Also he was so helpful, really explained about his rates and how it would be based on how much room MY rubbish took up in his van ( no one price fits all) He was so fair with his price . It was actually less than his quote , I would happily have paid what he estimated as it was SO MUCH LESS than ALL of the other quotes I got ... and I called quite a few. As an ex wife of someone who owned his own rubbish clearance company ( who would certainly NEVER have charged LESS than he quoted ) I was a bit untrusting of people in that job as I know there can be a lot of money made from it. Simon explained how he sorts out the rubbish in different categories between his two vans he passes what he can to charity shops , whatever can be recycled goes there and then only pays for exactly what needs to be dumped. That way he helps the charities, saves on what he pays out which enables him to pass on his savings to his customers, so his prices really are incomparable. I have already passed his name on to someone who lost an elderly relative recently and will need her house cleared, I just wish I knew of more people who need clearance as they definitely would be very happy with his service. 5* guy .

Fence Repair 5 A recommendation from a friend led us to Simon. Following the recent high winds we eventually needed four panels replacing and a couple of trellises, including some concrete posts. It was a pleasure to do business with Simon. He is a very pleasant and courteous man, enthusiastic about the job in hand and adopted a no-nonsense approach which we appreciated. For both the initial quotation appointment and the day of work, he arrived when he said he would and worked straight through, even though the weather was not very kind to him. In the past he has picked up and delivered a dining table for me, he repaired my parents fencing and recently he has repaired my fences after the strong winds we had. Fencing and building a new shed 5 Simon had previously done work at my nursery so we knew he was very good at what he does. He removed our old shed and fences. He redesigned and built our new fence giving us advice on the type of fencing we should purchase and also solving the problem of the different levels as we have a sloping garden. He gave us really helpful advice about where to go to purchase a new shed too. He liaised with the supplier to ensure we got exactly what we were hoping for and he took delivery checking that everything was there. A great help to us. He not only built the shed but also sorted out Perspex windows. He then installed shelves for us. He did a great job and having worked with him before we know he takes his ‘after service ‘ care very seriously too.

Disposal of Furniture 5 I contacted Simon through Lyds as have had good dealings before with this great site I needed one single bed one double bed and two bedside cabinets removed asp. I contacted Simon who was so pleasant and even though he was working told me he would be able to get to me the same day. Dismantle wardrobes and removed rubbish 5 Simon came over this morning with a colleague, and gutted my daughters double bedroom fitted wardrobes along one wall, removed all the rubbish and took away the bedroom carpet too. Turned up exactly at the time agreed, was polite and did the job making minimal mess, and was careful not to ruin walls along the way down. The fencing master! 5 My back garden fence had not responded well to stormy weather, and it was reclining rather more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I asked Simon for a quote, and within a few days the job was done! There was no need to replace the entire fence, Simon and his team member put in concrete supports and reused the existing fence panels. I had also asked for the garage door to be boarded where the storm had taken the glazing with it, and for the guttering on the garage to be remounted. Not only was this all done in a neat and timely manner, the water butt was also positioned under the downpipe of the guttering. The work was undertaken in one day, all rubbish cleared and removed from site. In addition, there was an asbestos pipe which Simon was able to remove as he has the appropriate facilities for dealing with such materials. Highly recommended! Thank you, Simon for a job well done.

5 Simon helped remove a lot of rubbish, broken down furniture and other bits left from the previous owner of a newly purchased house. He was very helpful, friendly and hard working (there was a lot of back and forth to the van!) He also advised on the cheapest way to get rid of some appliances (such as the fridge freezer). He broke down the costs and advised it was cheaper to go through the council whereas he could have easily taken it himself and charged more. Will be the first point of call when more needs clearing.

Moving furniture - excellent service at a reasonable price 5 I needed to move some furniture from Highbury to Winchmore Hill. Simon gave me a very reasonable quote, and we arranged a date and time to collect the furniture. Man with a Van 5 Simon was very easy to deal with from the start discussing the job over the phone and getting confirmation. He gave me confidence that he could sort our job easily which was quite a large flat move easily. As it transpired he was right and it went very easily. Simon was great at loading his van (very clean) and I helped with all of the items making it more cost effective although he can arrange for help with notice. He was very good about maneuvering furniture around tricky areas and stairs, and he was a very strong guy who worked fast. We thought his prices were fair and at the end of the day we felt we got great value for money from the service, considering what it would have cost us in hiring a large van, petrol and insurance and roping in a mate to help! I would definitely use Simon and his services again and would recommend him as a thoroughly nice and trustworthy guy. He was patient, courteous and did everything with a smile and in good spirits. Great service with a smile. 5 I recently needed some large bookcases picked up and the first person I phoned after reading previous reviews was Simon. My husband helped him as it was a two man job but he did a really thorough job and didn't even complain when I omitted to tell him one of the bookcases was quite large, so he had to do a second trip. he took a lot of time to make sure they were positioned correctly in the garage and really made a tricky task easy. I will definitely be using Simon again if I need anything picked up.

Relocated a desk 5 Simon relocated an antique desk for us. He was fantastic. Reliable, friendly, efficient and took great care for us. Outstanding service from 'A man with a van.' 5 I had been given two weeks notice by my landlord to move from my apartment just before Christmas, as you can imagine this was quite a stressful time and I was in urgent need of a removal service, and was worried it was such short notice. We found out that they definitely would not fit into the new flat. I was very grateful that Simon used his initiative to do this as if he hadn't we would have wasted a lot of time and would have been in big problems come the moving date. I then had it arranged for sofas to be put in storage, and of course Simon looked after that. On the day of the move Simon promptly arrived at my flat and got straight to work. I must admit I can throw a diva strop during stressful situations like moving but not only did Simon do a great job he gave me reassurance and reminded me to keep calm as everything was under control...just what I needed to hear.All in all I would say that I received an outstanding service from A man with a van as Simon not only did a great job, being reliable, punctual and professional but he also went the extra mile to ensure that my move ran smoothly and was stress free. I highly recommend A man with a van and will definitely be using this service again, in fact I have him booked to take the sofa's out of storage into a new home :)

5 Simon did an amazing job removing an old glass greenhouse from our backyard. He left it in better shape than I could have asked for. He even cleaned up around our backyard and took away additional large pieces which the trash trucks keep leaving behind. Great job.

Excellent local transport service. 5 Booked this service to help me with an ebay pick-up of two very heavy sofas. He arrived on time and was extremely helpful. Very reasonable rates and will definitely use again and recommend to anyone.
