Excellent service! 5 S&S Plumbing & Maintenance have fitted two bathrooms, a kitchen/utility room, underfloor heating system and Combi boiler for me and I’m delighted with the results! Stephen is very knowledgeable and professional and always approaches my (not at all straightforward!) jobs with a positive, can-do attitude. As a woman living alone, I think it’s also important to note that I felt very comfortable with his team in my house. Fixed leaking toilet 5 Stephen fixed my elderly Mum's leaking toilet at short notice. We'd never used him before, but it was urgent and I picked his name from the LYDs directory. New bathroom. 5 We've just had a new bathroom installed by Stephen and are extremely happy with it. Stephen went to great lengths to ensure that the finish of the bathroom was of a very high standard. Right from our initial meeting to the final completion, Stephen maintained excellent communication to ensure we were fully satisfied with the work being done. The team were punctual, polite and ensured all works were carried out with minimum disruption. They cleaned and tidied up at the end of every day and left the house as they found it. New bathroom 5 We needed a new bathroom and after meeting Steve knew that he was the right person for the job. He was enthusiastic about the project and encouraged us to go for the design we really wanted. We knew that it was not going to be straightforward as we have had many problems with the house previously, however, Steve handled every issue and problem that came about professionally and had a solution for us every time. We absolutely love our finished bathroom (it's now our favourite room in the house!) and would definitely recommend Steve! We can't wait to get him back to do our kitchen!

He transformed our plumbing 5 S and S Plumbing cleaned out our forty year old central system, replaced its pump and installed a new time switch all in a day's work at an affordable and fair price. It is now as good as new.Fast, friendly and efficient service that I would recommend to everyone: a fair price and great attention to client service and detail. Also, he is honest as the day is long which is a big deal in London.

Kitchen Tap conundrums 5 I phoned Steve in a moment of desperation when I tried to fit a new kitchen tap and got slightly out of my depth! Steve was brilliant and talked me through it over the phone. Great company 5 After our boiler went wrong we were told that we needed a new one. Steve came over to price for the replacement and had a quick look at our whilst here. Kitchen tap 5 We faced the prospect of no kitchen sink for two weeks when our new kitchen worktop and sink were being installed at the start of our builder's fortnight holiday. As we didn't know exactly which day we would need the sink to be connected up, we had to have someone who could do the job for very quickly. We checked out the reviews for Steve online and everyone said how good he was and reasonable too, so I contacted Steve on the Wednesday, he popped round in the evening to price up the job. He sent us the guaranteed quote by email, which I received on the Thursday morning. We agreed the price and he very kindly fit us in on the Friday evening. He didn't rush, took his time to do a very neat job, connected the sink, taps and dishwasher up making sure everything was working as it should. Fantastic job, excellent service, brilliant price a lovely man. If we need any plumbing done in the future, we will definitely be calling on Steve and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone else.

Shower room 5 Just wanted to say many thanks to Stephen and his team for the fantastic work they did on our shower room!! Stephen is a true professional, and his work is excellent. Nothing was too much trouble, and from the beginning, he reassured me that he would be able to fix any problems that we had, which he did! ( he even took the time to help my elderly neighbour, when her plumber had let her down!)I now have a fully working, leak free shower, which has been fitted to a exceptionally high standard. The team were professional, courteous, and always cleaning! The Henry Hoover and dust sheets always came out first!! S&S Plumbing 5 Extremely pleased that I contacted Steve Shalloe in connection with a problem I had with my Triton Power Shower which started dripping water when switched off. Although I have a service visit booked with Triton, Steve came to my house and expertly fitted a new handle type valve to the hot feed as the existing gate valve would not operate properly. This means I can now stop the supply of water to the shower when not in use until Triton come. Steve is a very competent, knowledgeable and friendly person and I have no hesitation in recommending him for any plumbing and heating problems you have. What a pleasure to find someone so genuine! I shall definitely be keeping Steve's contact details for future use. Thank You Steve!

5 Once again, Steve from S&S Plumbing has come through. Our very old boiler finally gave up. Not only did Steve get to us the same day but within 3 days we had a new boiler fully fitted and working at a very competitive price. With 2 small children (one of whom is very fond of mud!) the boiler is vital and the level of service you get from S&S is everything you would want it to be. I would highly recommend them.

He then worked with us to suit our budget and requirements.By mid Monday the next week he had rectified all the issues, supplied and fitted the necessary parts and we had hot water and heating again.Given that this happened later on a weekend evening, we were extremely impressed with the speed Stephen turned everything around and the consideration, dedication and professionalism he showed throughout.I would not hesitate to recommend him for any further work. He goes above and beyond and he's a thoroughly nice chap and thanks obviously have to go to LYDS for introducing us in the first place!

Shower issue 5 Called Steve after reading reviews on LYDS. Shower was playing up and not getting hot. Steve quickly identified the issue and explained how it all worked in layman terms. He then sourced the part, and came to fit it and restore order within my household. All very efficient, clean and friendly. Also passed on cost savings received from supplier. Very good job and will be using and referring "S&S plumbing" in future.

Very helpful in an emergency 5 I called Stephen one Friday afternoon as we had a broken tap that wouldn't turn off. He was in the middle of a job in Hertfordshire but still took the time to talk me through how I could turn off the water supply to that specific tap. He then came out at 8am on Saturday to fix the tap and showed my husband how we could fix it for ourselves in the future. Super friendly and helpful guy!

Hot water 5 I’ve had problems with my hot water for years. It keeps stopping working. I do have emergency home cover insurance but the company is a nightmare to deal with and they never get to the root of the problem. They just put a plaster over it. And none of the engineers they’ve ever sent out has ever understood my storage heater system which is a nightmare system but I’m stuck with it. They’ve actually expected me to understand it and explain it to them. I’m not a plumber or electrician!! Well, my hot water stopped working a month ago only 2 weeks after it had supposedly been “fixed”. My insurance company weren’t playing ball. They sent out an engineer who said my storage heater was too small for my flat so they said they wouldn’t fix it, I have anxiety and find dealing with my hot water problems and the insurance company so stressful. But they said that I could get a second opinion so I found Stephen via LYDS. He came over and identified that my storage heater was big enough for a family of 3 (I live alone!), and he identified what he thought the long-term problem was. He’s the only engineer I’ve had round in 8 years who actually understands and is familiar with my storage heating system. I sent his report to my insurance company, and they agreed that Stephen could fix it and they’d pay. Yesterday, Stephen came round and fixed my hot water. And, hopefully, it’s a long-term fix. He identified limescale which he removed and also that the wrong-sized heating element had been previously fitted. I now have hot water for the first time in a month! And, Stephen was an absolute pleasure to have around – chirpy (the engineers my insurance company have sent around have always been rude and stroppy) and patient with my stress levels! I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him.

Radiator in bedroom 5 I called Steve in a panic just before Christmas for a radiator that had fallen off the wall in my young son's room. He turned up promptly and came with an immediate solution, clear explanation and good advice of what we needed to do. As it was my son's room, Steve realised how desperate we were to get it sorted and came on a Sunday to complete the job. Excellent, and friendly service 5 I found Steve on the LYDS Facebook group, having enquired about a trustworthy plumber for a minor job. Not only did Steve call me back the same evening, but he actually came straight round within the hour and completed the work quickly and at a very competitive cost. He is an excellent plumber and very friendly bloke, so I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone. Replacement taps and faulty boiler 5 We have used Steve on a couple of occasions now, and would happily use him again. Once to fix our taps, which he did without damaging the tiles and saved us a lot of money in the process as another plumber said it would cost a lot more and we would need to replace the pedestal unit.The second time he came out to repair our boiler that decided to go on the blink. He spent a lot of time locating the part needed (boiler no longer sold in the UK) and then fitted it in the evening to ensure we had heating and hot water again for our little girl.

Radiator install 5 Had Stephen round to fit a new radiator in my bedroom, Left him with the house keys. As I don't work too far from home he came and dropped the keys with me once he had finished. I got home and had to check to see there was a radiator installed as there was none of the mess normally associated with tradesman. He had done a lovely job and cleared up beautifully. My house is warm once more and the whole heating system is as quiet as a mouse now, he also replaced some lagging on the pipes under the floor that was missing while he was there. Very trustworthy and very reasonably priced. Would recommend him to anyone.

Honest good service 5 My sister contacted me in a panic when her boiler had stopped working and had no hot water. She lives on her own and was worried about getting someone she could rely on and afford.I immediately gave her Stephens number and he popped round after finishing his days work. He managed to get her old boiler working whilst he sourced a new one and also checked her radiators to make sure they were efficient for her. She felt completely at ease with Stephen and left him keys to carry out the work whilst she was working. Within in a week she had a new more efficient boiler, her rads all working and a few smaller jobs done, all without hitting her pocket. We both have no hesitation in referring Stephen to our friends and family. A truly trustworthy and brilliant plumber who won't let his clients down.

Dead gas combi boiler. 5 Excellent service all round.Coming home from work I found my boiler was no longer working. Upon contacting S&S Plumbing, he talked me through a few possible quick fixes first. But the issue was more serious, to which he came round in under 30mins.I was given options on the repair that was needed, based on cost and time it would take to get parts.To which he returned the next morning and fixed my boiler without any hassles, all reasonably priced.I could not recommend S&S Plumbing more.
