Venue: The Dugdale Centre

In these Colour Therapy: Sigils sessions, you'll be designing your own unique sigils based on the idea of positive things we wish for ourselves and loved ones. You’ll be painting onto A3 card using a variety of oil pastel techniques. A sigil is an inscribed or painted symbol that is historically attributed with magical power. They’re often found in grimoires. They have a long history in Western magic and some of them date back to the Neolithic era, but they can also be found in West African Vodun, the yantra from Hindu tantra and historical runic magic among the Germanic tribes. Session 1: New Beginnings Saturday September 28th, 2.30pm– 4.30pm In session #1 you’ll be first looking at a collection of sigils and then planning and designing your own. Session 2: Samhain Saturday October 26th, 2.30pm– 4.30pm In the 2nd session you’ll be drawing on themes associated with the Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. Session 3: Saturnalia Saturday November 30th, 2.30pm– 4.30pm For the final session you’ll be thinking about the ancient Roman festival and designing sigils with the idea of gift-giving. Suitable for ages 16 years+ TICKETS: £10.00 per person, limited availability
