Wednesday 22nd - Saturday 25th January 2020 at 7.45pm
Dugdale Theatre, 39 London Road, Enfield EN2 6DS
A gripping double bill of plays by Dario Fo and Franca Rame exploring a Mother in crisis.
A Mother
A Mother coaxes us into her experience of anguish, guilt and anger, as she grapples with the monster she has created. We share a mother's torment as the play takes on an increasingly nightmarish quality and she descends into her final hell. Society shares a collective fear of terrorism without allowing a full conversation.
Medea
We discover Medea abandoned and in despair, as she comes to realise that she is a victim of centuries of male oppression rather than a pawn in the hands of the Fate. Accordingly, her children must die in order to break the chains of oppression.
By Nobel Prize Winner Dario Fo and Franca Rame.
A Mother Translated by Ed Emery. Medea traslated by Gillian Hanna
A Mother and Medea are presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Ltd, A Concord Theatricals Company.
