Fundraising Manager Job Description The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre Enfield, Greater London (On-site) £30,000 - £34,000 per year (depending on experience) Full-time Contract (permanent with 6 months’ probation) At The Nightingale, we’re a small, local charity with a big impact. From counselling and complementary therapies to social events that connect like-minded individuals facing similar challenges, we tailor our support to ensure everyone gets the help they need, all provided free of charge. As demand for our services grow year on year, so does our ambition. To meet this increasing need, we must grow our income streams and this is where you come in! Role overview Reporting to the CEO and working closely with them to focus on donor relationship management, the role holder will be responsible for developing and delivering an effective multi-channel fundraising strategy to diversify and grow guaranteed income streams across individual donors, regular giving, business/corporate giving and sponsorship, events, legacies and trusts and foundations. Key Responsibilities • Diversify and grow guaranteed income streams across to following: o Individual/Regular giving – engaging with existing donors to build and maintain strong relationships while identifying sources of new opportunities. o Businesses – supporting the CEO and other team members to identify, source and engage with both local and national potential businesses and corporations across both donations and corporate sponsorship opportunities. o Trusts and foundations – research, develop and produce a range of bids to charitable trusts and foundations, and other appropriate organisations. o Events – oversee the management of the events team to identify opportunities across both the charity’s internal cycle of events and third party events. o Legacies – responsible for identifying and reaching out to relevant stakeholders to raise awareness and highlight the importance of legacy planning. o Appeals – identify opportunities for one-off appeals and campaigns, working with the marketing & comms team and events to develop a clear narrative and ask, collateral and plan to reach target audiences. o Community outreach and engagement – build sustainable, long-term relationships that align with The Nightingale’s fundraising priorities. • Manage team of 2 fundraiser roles plus 1 volunteer, providing leadership and supervision to the fundraising team, creating clearly defined, measurable targets and KPIs plus budget management. Essential requirements include: • Proven track record of delivering income targets of £50k minimum per annum. • Ability to develop high quality fundraising proposals, bids and pitches. • Comfortable with reaching out to and managing high level relationships with existing and potential new donors, ensuring their contributions are recognised and cultivated for future support. • Understanding of the UK charity sector, knowing how to identify, research and engage new networks to generate revenue, expand reach and tap into wider audiences. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and written with a range of audiences. • Good attention to detail and strong analytical skills. • Able to work independently, applying own initiative. • Able to be flexible and adaptable (attending networking events and meetings as necessary).
