Position: Coffee Shop Manager Location: Winchmore Hill, London Salary: Negotiable A little about us: We are a brand new, family run coffee shop based in the heart of Winchmore Hill. Our aim is to serve the best coffee and sandwiches, but we will also provide a beautiful play area for children so that parents and children are both happy. The role: We would like a manager to come on board prior to opening to assist the owner in all pre- opening related tasks. This will include menu creation, hiring of staff, devising operating procedures, initial ordering of stock and more. Day to day responsibilities will include scheduling shifts for baristas and kitchen staff, monitoring daily expenses and revenues and ordering all supplies as needed. To be successful in this role you should have demonstrable experience in a similar role. You should be available to work weekends and bank holidays and the occasional evening (very infrequent, special events only). Ultimately, you will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement, and turn our coffee shop into a favourite in Winchmore Hill. Responsibilities: • Manage the day-to-day operations of the coffee shop •Assist the owner with the development of operational procedures including: opening/closing, cashing up, customer service, fire safety, first aid and more • Hire and onboard new kitchen staff and baristas • Train employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment • Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed (such as front and back of house accessories, coffee, milk and food ingredients) • Maintain updated records of daily, weekly and monthly revenues and expenses • Add new menu items based on seasonality and customers’ preferences • Ensure all coffee shop areas are clean and tidy • Nurture relationships with local customers. Requirements: • The most important thing to us is that our customers feel like they are in a “home from home” environment. As such, we are looking for approachable and engaging staff and above all – you should probably like children • Work experience as a Café or Coffee Shop Manager or Barista, Supervisor level upwards • Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines • Availability to work flexible hours • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team •A higher education qualification in a related subject would be advantageous but not essential • Experience in stock control, inventory management and monitoring income and expenditure is essential. • Personal license holder would be advantageous If this sounds like you and you would like to apply, please send your CV to [email protected]
