Stephen James BMW Group is looking for an HR Assistant to join our busy People Team based at our Enfield Centre. In this role you will be responsible for the full HR life cycle, maintain the HR system and will support in areas including employee relations (ER), performance and employee engagement. This is a generalist role with training and development and great exposure to all aspects of HR. What you will be doing: As HR Assistant, you will have responsibility of administering the generalist HR activities for the employee life cycle including on-boarding and every process in between. You will also have the opportunity to work on some interesting projects alongside some inspiring, hardworking and dedicated individuals within your team and the wider organisation. Responsibilities • On-boarding - Job offers and the generation of all new starter paperwork/contracts, references, driving license and right to work checks • Responsibility for maintaining the HR database – ADP HR.Net including: all new starters onto ADP and affecting all job changes, change of hours, part time holiday calculations, change of pay rates and work patterns • Management of the Smartsheet which notifies the business of when a new starter, or an internal move and a leaver occur • Organise and deliver 121 personal Inductions and manage the setup instructions of ADP for all new starters • Note taking at formal Disciplinary Meetings and type up the summary notes, witness statements • Work in partnership with HR manager and line managers on performance management, employee relations, resourcing, redundancy, and management development matters • Support in grievance, disciplinary and capability investigations, and hearings, writing letters and summary notes • Monitor and manage absence; prepare related reports and letters as necessary • Probation reviews and letters • Provide assistance to line managers in completing 121s to improve their effectiveness and tackle low performance with goals and follow up • Advising on policies and procedures Experience/skills • Excellent communication skills (both verbally and written) • Friendly and professional with a can-do attitude • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise a varied workload, while following up within agreed timeframes • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above including Maths and English or equivalent • Proven experience of working in a HR setting • Preferable you will have a CIPD level 3/5 Qualification or a HR Degree • Excellent IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Office 365 to an intermediate level • Must be eligible to work in the UK and have a valid UK Driving Licence Who are we? Salary and Hours £26,000 to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm, office based with fortnightly visits to our dealerships in Southeast London and Kent.
