Holtwhites is a busy artisan bakery producing high quality, handmade viennoiserie and patisserie. We are looking for a pastry chef with a good level of production experience to join our lovely team. Someone who is genuinely passionate about the industry. We need someone to work 3 - 4 days a week, ideally Wednesday to Saturday. It’s a great opportunity to use your pastry skills whilst still maintaining a work-life balance. We are a super friendly team who offer plenty of opportunities to learn new skills - the most important thing is you are motivated and hard working. Job description: ● You will be part of the team producing laminated, yeast-leavened doughs from scratch, our product range includes croissant, pasteis de nata, buns, and puff pastry sausage rolls. So, viennoiserie/lamination experience would be ideal. ● As our patisserie range includes cakes, tarts, and celebration cakes to order - you need to be handy with a piping bag and have good attention to detail for finishing products to a high standard. ● Staff discount, free loaf of our artisan bread per shift, food provided for longer shifts, big newly refurbished site. As many delicious coffees as you can drink… Role requirements: ● Qualified/trained pastry chef AND/OR ● A minimum of 1 years bakery production experience in a commercial bakery or kitchen ● Able to work well independently as well as within a team ● Attention to detail and commitment to producing products to a very high quality and doing so consistently ● Reliable in following procedures and recipes in bulk ● Minimum Level 2 Food safety certificate and committed to ensuring the kitchen and working areas are clean at all times ● Strong communication skills: including the ability to problem solve as a team, staying level headed and working efficiently during busy periods ● Great team attitude - working well with a varied team both in the kitchen and our lovely front of house staff, maintaining the ‘can do’ attitude. ● Must have an excellent command of the English language & already be based in the UK with the right to work
