Contract type: part time Hours: 12hrs for each position Position 1 – Mondays and Thursdays Position 2 – Thursdays and Fridays Salary: £8.80 per hour About the Role: The Parker Day Centre work with people with a dementia who have a range of needs and their focus is always on the individual and how best to support them to live the type of life they wish to live, to have fun and make memories! You will be working with people with dementia and their families who may also have additional health needs, experience sensory loss or have physical disabilities. As part of your role you will required to sometimes provide intimate personal care, so we are looking for people who are able to demonstrate dignity and respect for the individuals they care for, whilst promoting independence. You will need to work flexibly, participate in full induction and ongoing training The people attending the centre enjoy taking part in a variety of activities and you will be assisting them to access these as well as looking for other opportunities people may like to try. We always base our support on the specific needs, choices and aspirations of the individual following our principles of person-centred support. About You: For this role you need to be patient, have a sense of fun and be able to support people through good and bad days. We are looking for people who are committed to supporting the people they work with who are honest and reliable and who can be creative and flexible in their approach, enhancing peoples opportunities to grow and develop. You will need to have excellent communication and be able to use a range of skills to support people, enabling them to actively participate in choices about their life.
