This is an exciting opportunity to learn about various elements of our multifaceted business. Our Furniture Manufacturing programme will provide you with the skills to support and engage within different parts of the organisation. As an Apprentice Furniture Manufacturer, you will be following a comprehensive training programme, which offers training in a variety of skills in the manufacture of assembled furniture. The training covers the use of relevant tools and equipment, from hand and power tools, to a range of machinery and equipment used for cutting, shaping and may also cover the making of components to specifications - learning how to do cut materials and make joints, assembly, learning how to select appropriate veneers and laminates and applying stains and finishes. The flexibility and responsiveness required allows you to develop a wide range of skills. You will spend time in more than one of our brands and we will provide extensive training, guidance and support, as well as the opportunity to experience the industry from the inside and gain valuable work experience. You will also undertake a Furniture Manufacturing L2 qualification with a regular week long work-based study 5 times per year at the apprentice provider workshop in Oxford. Entry requirement for access to this apprenticeship: 16 or Over Living in the UK Not in full time education Good Literacy and numeracy skills • 5 x GCSE’s desirable • Applicants without level 1 functional skills, equivalent to a GCSE 2 or 3, will be considered and if successful will be supported by their training provider to gain it during the course.
