URGENT: Experienced hardworking FEMALE LIVE-IN support worker/carer needed in Potters Bar (EN6) to help care for our lovely Mum. Mum is 67 years old with advanced multiple sclerosis. Whilst she is fully communicative and compos mentis, she is severely physically disabled requiring double up hoisting throughout the day. She is fully dependent for all personal care including abdominal massage for bowel care, feeding and medication. Hours; 70 hours per week, £825 The weekly work pattern i.e. weeks on and weeks off may be negotiated to suit the individual. Essentials: * You must be looking for a longterm position * An interest and experience in the psychological complexities of chronic disease and disability. * Patience and the ability to allay anxiety on a daily basis. * Plenty of hoist and manual handling experience. * Must be reliable and punctual as we will be dependent on your services * The ability to communicate effectively and work as a team * Good references and up to date DBS Preferable: *Experience with tetraplegic clients *Experience with bowel management The support worker/carer will have her own private double room. The house is on a leafy street and within walking distance of all amenities, a bus and train station, as well as a local park. Bath and shower available on the first floor of the house for sole use by carers. PPE is provided and must be worn at all times. A driving license is NOT required.
